Some of our work...
Expertise
A part of the Chicago area recording scene since 1980, we've recorded and produced artists in many musical styles and genres. We're also a great resource for overdubbing home recordings. Add piano, guitar, drums, and vocals (one of our specialties!)**. Pro Tools compatibility makes integrating your project with other studios (or your basement, even) a snap.
Equipment
The Control Room features our classic Trident 80B analog console, Pro Tools Ultimate HDX including plugins from Universal Audio, Izotope, Fabfilter, Waves, Celemony and others, as well as our extensive outboard rack of modern and vintage compression, EQ, both Analog and Digital Reverbs and processors.
Our monitoring system features spectacular Bowers & Wilkins 803 Diamond series speakers powered by audiophile Threshold S1000 Stasis linear state mono block power amps, original Yamaha NS10Ms with a Threshold S200 Stasis Class A power amp, and a set of classic Auratones. We can swap in a pair of Genelec 1031A monitors if requested. ** Software instruments by Modartt, Toonmusic, Native Instruments, Reason, and more can all be played using our excellent Roland A-88 Grand piano three pedal weighted keyboard/ MIDI controller. For guitarists we can mic up our vintage Fender amps or play direct into Line 6 amp simulations or software amp modelling. Our tracking sessions are hosted at Electrical Audio where we've housed both our excellent beautifully maintained grand pianos, the Yamaha C7 7'6" semi-concert grand and Baldwin 7' SF10. Studios at Electrical Audio are acoustically excellent spacious rooms and offer fantastic collections of drums, keyboards, guitar and bass amps and pedals, as well as other specialty instruments. The combined collections of Studiomedia and Electrical Audio microphones is extensive and impressive featuring vintage tube and solid state mics from Neumann, AKG, AEA, Audio-Technica, Royer, Beyer, Josephson, Blue, Electro-Voice, and many others. |
